The Command and Call

From the very beginning of mankind, men and women have been commanded to be fruitful and multiply, fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over every living thing. (Genesis 1:27-28)
Scripture also charges women, specifically, to work in their homes, to be keepers at home, to be working at home, to be busy at home, or to be homemakers (Titus 2:5 from various versions).

We have been called to work!

How we go about fulfilling those exhortations as women of faith in a fallen and sinful world, and amidst all of the technological and cultural differences that have come to be since the beginning, can seem like a daunting mystery...

This Specific Mission

Thankfully, dear ladies, we are not alone in navigating, understanding, or even solving that mystery! We have the very word of God as revealed in the scriptures, the Holy Spirit in us to convict us and help us, the power of His word preached when we gather under a doctrinally solid teacher on the Lord's day, and as sisters in Christ...

We have each other!

This site will be designed to encourage and edify us in all of the work we are commanded, called, and specially equipped to do as women- specifically the work that is done in and at the home, for the home, and from the home.

How It All Began...

Some Story Behind
& Future Vision For

"She
Is Working At Home"

Thanks be to Christ and all that He has allowed me to go through, I have a "continually being sanctified" passion for taking care of my home and everyone in it. That passion is paired with a love of entrepreneurship. Those desires are sprinkled liberally with growing inclinations towards self improvement, discipline, learning, efficiency, logistics, industriousness, and creativity.

Top all of that off with an increasing aspiration to connect with other sisters in Christ to encourage them, and be encouraged by them, regarding the gospel and the good works that God is doing in and through each of us!

In my home with my husband and soon to be 4 children, in my local church body, and in my current community I have many wonderful opportunities to implement outward expressions of the work I am commanded, called, and equipped to do in relation to all of the above references...

I am certain others can also testify for me that God is constantly working in me to focus on the following: helping my husband with, and respecting him for, what he is commanded and called to be, loving and teaching my children, keeping my home "mostly" clean and under constant organization, preparing foods within our means and improving my cooking abilities, stewarding the outdoors, caring for our pets, getting better in finance management with our current income whilst pursuing self employment or remote work opportunities, spending time reading, trying and failing and trying again to get some regular exercise, make a variety of things with my hands, setting up play dates, coffee visits, or meal deliveries to neighbors, etc. etc. etc.

Still, there's an eagerness to expand a bit more...

Are you following my thought process here?

If so- then you'll see why this site, "She Is Working At Home", ,has come to be. And will continue to become, Lord willing!

Here, in this space, it is my aim to cover as much ground as I can in as many ways as I am able when it comes to spurring on women (myself included) to the work that can be done at home and to highlight the multiple blessings that can come from every aspect of it.

I hope you'll join me by following along and sharing the content, and/or by participating with me and creating some of the content! (See below for possible future opportunities and a way to connect with me!)

Thank you for reading thus far!
